Before You Join Another Business
By Terra Williams
1. DO YOUR RESEARCH!
a. Take the time to find out who is BEHIND the business.
b. Place a small order to see how it's handled.
c. Look at the company's history.
There are so many mom and pop/Wahm/WAHW "direct sales"
businesses popping up. They're open a few months, then they get
overwhelmed and bam, they close the door. They make the
consultant look bad and the consultant loses out in the end when
they have to refund their customers for products never received,
and it's a mark on their reputation
If you're thinking about opening up a Direct Sales business
with consultants, reps, or whatever...
Do your research
Plan for growth!
If you're overwhelmed, STOP taking orders!
C O M M U N I C A T E with your reps/distributors. You can do
this a multiple of ways:
a. Phone
b. Email
c. Instant messaging
d. Website message on an inside page
e. Yahoo group for your consultants
f. Postcards
In this day and age, there is NO reason why you should not be
communicating with those that are representing you. If you DO
NOT follow through, you make them look bad.
Word of mouth is great advertising, and it works just as well
when you have unhappy and irate customers.
